Our Vision
The Fundacion Arte del Mundo (FAM) based in the town of Baņos de Agua Santa, Tungurahua, Ecuador is a non-profit Arts, Language and Literacy organization recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Culture founded with the intention of creating cultural and educational activities and resources, to the approximately 20,000 residents in an area occasionally affected by the multiple eruptions of Tungurahua volcano.
Our prime focus is to offer ongoing classes, workshops and events in all aspects of the arts, language and literacy. With the help of local citizens and businesses, international supporters and volunteers from all over the world, we are developing cultural and educational projects throughout the community in collaboration with public schools in the area.
With the October 2009 initiation of the BAŅOS COMMUNITY CERAMIC MURAL PROJECT, Fundacion Arte del Mundo acheived the goal of working in collaboration with local public schools. The ceramic mural was designed and executed by the art students of Instituto Tecnologico Superior de Baņos under the direction of Volunteer Visiting Artist, Janice Wright, of Bath, Maine. It is our goal to continue this program by bringing VOLUNTEER VISITING ARTISTS from all over the world into the public schools of Baņos and the surrounding rural areas.
