Are you a lover of books and literature, or a student or artist working in painting, theater, dance, sculpture, music or writing looking for fresh inspiration, someone who would like to share your joy with others? Then we invite you to bring your talents and enthusiasm to the children and youth of Baños de Agua Santa. For someone experienced and self-motivated - someone who is brimming with ideas, who can speak Spanish, who can work independently and with a team and carry-through to project from start to finish we can offer support and lots of kids to inspire!

Baños is a community of some 20,000 people in the central sierra region of Ecuador, 4 hours south of Quito. With it's beautiful setting, hot springs, outdoor activities, and tourist infrastructure, it is one of the most popular destinations for Ecuadorians as well as international travelers.

In a small country, in a small town near the middle of the world surrounded by volcanoes and a landscape of spectacular beauty, a small group of people are working to create and grow a center of art,language and literature for the community where they live and work.

To be human is to be imaginative and creative. The members of Fundacion Arte del Mundo (FAM) recognize the importance of art and literature in the lives of people, especially the lives of children. Art and art-related activities are often the only part of a person's life where there are no right or wrong answers, where all are equal to create and imagine, where you are encouraged to experiment.

Our emphasis is on sharing the love of books and the arts with the children and adults of Baños through utilizing the creativity and talents of volunteers from all over the world.

FAM is currently working to provide arts and literacy programming for kids and adults in our free children's library, LA BIBLIOTECA INTERACTIVA DE BAÑOS as well as in rural areas surrounding our community.
